Charlie has worked for more than 40 years in financial services, both in the UK, its Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories and in Switzerland. Charlie is primarily focused on risk management and control functions, encompassing retail and private banking, wealth management and Family Offices.
Charlie is an expert in FATCA and CRS as well as all other tax transparency initiatives such as beneficial ownership registers of companies and trusts, and economic substance rules. He advises both financial institutions and families on the risks and impacts of these regimes.
For the past 15 years, Charlie worked for the Stonehage Fleming Group, where he implemented these regimes across the global multi-family office and was responsible for ensuring full compliance. In addition, he provided consultancy services to client families and external financial services providers.
Charlie is the lead subject matter expert for WealthComply, an exciting AI-driven platform co-founded by Helm’s team to transform how trust companies and corporate service providers manage FATCA, CRS and broader AEOI reporting obligations. Drawing on decades of hands-on implementation experience, Charlie is shaping the rules engine and classification logic at the heart of WealthComply’s system — and is deeply engaged in the product’s ongoing development roadmap.
Based in Zurich, Charlie is a British citizen who has lived in Switzerland for more than 15 years.
